The church was founded in Vietnam by a group of believers. From 1997 to 2005 it grew through small gatherings in believers' homes.

Many meeting points received registration for religious activities under Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg.

On 14 December 2018, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs granted the church a certificate of registration for religious activities.

On 8 April 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued Decision 259/QĐ-BNV recognizing the church as a religious organization.

The 2026 Summer Conference in Nha Trang (30 June – 3 July) gathered about 700 delegates around the theme "One in Him – One Body, One Mission" and launched a seven-year journey for 2026–2033.
